On a warm summer Saturday nearer towards the end of noon. Someone knocked on my door. It was as if a comet fell from the sky when I saw the package and it widen my eye. She must have been an angel sent from above heaven.

And yes, this may sound cliché but I’m too joyous on this day where my walls were all torn down.  The point is, my Grandma just passed away last week. She was my stronghold, my adviser, my cheer leader my EVERYTHING. I love her more than I could ever imagine. She’s been one of my inspirations… one of the reasons why I strive to survive-I dreamt to give her a better life. I want her to live like a real queen. And because of her demise, the whole truth of the world for me has just been changed. Like my vision has suddenly changed. So I am broken. I am smiling but my heart is bleeding.

I reminded myself  since eight that losing  someone you love the most doesn’t get easier, I  should only learn to accept and live without them. I convinced myself that times like this, it’s hard to be strong especially if you lost someone dear to you, but you must continue to live to make them even more proud as they watch over you.

Then, last night I prayed to God that tomorrow, I will create a new perspective in life for those dear to me that are still alive, everything will be alright, and that I will wake up with warm delight. I guess, my instinct was right!  As what I’ve mentioned earlier, someone just sent her love and care, she truly is a rare jewel. I tell you, it’s true! Good things do come when you least expect it! And happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.

Endless thanks to my grade 1 teacher, my aunt, my friend, my mentor for this wonderful presents!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Changing Seasons

We too, as the trees, should stand strong amidst change

As through seasons we travel and with others we share

We say, On earth nothing lasts forever,

Circumstances change, people change and things go wrong,

Hold on to your faith and life goes on.

“Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God.” Isaiah 50:10.

Do you see weary people in the body of Christ? While the world has serious problems that can wear us down, we can experience joy from God, Who lifts us up. According to the Bible, the joy of the Lord is our strength. Take your stand on the Word of God. Become rooted and grounded, not in shame, discouragement and dishonor but in the LOVE of Christ, being complete in Him. Ask the Lord to work a healing in your mind, will and emotions. Let Him come in and fulfill what He came to do: Heal your broken heart, bind up your wounds, and give you beauty for ashes, joy for mourning, a garment of praise instead of heaviness and a double honor for a double shame.  Determine that from this moment on you are going to reject the roots of bitterness, shame, negativism, and perfectionism and nourish the roots of joy, peace love and power. God’s Word is filled with inherent power. When God speaks, powerful things take place. His Word never returns void; it always accomplishes its purpose. When we learn to speak God’s Word instead of rehearsing how we feel or declaring what we think, we are also releasing power. The Word of God spoken in faith from a believer’s mouth can change circumstances. We may experience negative facts in our lives but God’s Word is truth and truth is more powerful than facts.

During the struggling moment of my life, God has spoken to me and all I need to do is to believe what He has said. His Word is loaded with promises that are for anyone who will believe them and act accordingly. Just as you may have, I had set of unpleasant facts in my life. During my childhood I had been physically and mentally badly abused. I was emotionally wounded and experienced various personality disorders as a result of enduring a very dysfunctional life. I had sour attitude, a chip on my shoulder and was filled with bitterness and un-forgiveness. But Jesus came into my life, and I learned to faithfully believe in His Word.  By faith I draw the bloodline of Jesus Christ across my life and boldly declare that I am healed from the pains and wounds of my pasts. I have been set free to live a new life of wholeness. I continue to praise the Lord and confess His Word over myself, claiming His forgiveness, cleansing and healing every day. I stopped blaming my biological father for what’s happening in our lives and  I started to forgive Him. I stopped blaming myself and feeling unworthy and unloved. Instead I begun to say ‘’ If God is for me, who can be against me?’’  And today I am free from all those things that were definitely negative facts years ago because I know for sure that I am walking in a way where God’s presence and power is abiding me. God who is all-powerful and all-knowing lives within me.

God compares His Word to seed. When we plant the seed by speaking it, praying it, believing it and acting upon it, it will produce what it says. God promise us that it will produce and it will change the darkness life into light. God will not only cover you, He will also bring you into a place in Him where the evil one can’t touch you. Psalm 5:11 says, ‘’ But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them that those who love your name may rejoice in you.’’ God is covering you so that you can survive anything and everything, if you just trust in Him and hold steadfast to His Word. Rejoice! for you’ve got heavenly protection from all your earthly foes! Praise the Lord for He turns the darkness into light. In Jesus name, Amen.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Solitary

\

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.- Colossians 3:15-17

My Solitude with Christ

Imagining  myself in the place of Jesus, lying there in the house where I feel safe, comforted, loved and accepted. Picturing  how much harder the decision to leave would have been if Jesus had ignored that restless  so during my solitude I usually “Get up and go out or lock my room to pray fervently  ”  and in the midst of my solitude, God is calling.

” Today, I’m not anti-social.  I’m just enjoying my solitude.”

Weekly Photo Challenge: Everyday Life

‘’ Fulfilling God‘s Purpose ‘’

I was living a life that’s filled with woe.

I was holding onto sin that I can’t let go.

Then Jesus beseeches but I said No!

I said to myself, what will it take?

Nizy, please be awake!

 ~*~

Jesus Christ for me has died.

On the cross was crucified.

But I didn’t make up my mind.

I said to myself, what will it take?

Nizy, please be awake!

 ~*~

How many glitches will arise?

Before you finally realize

God meant every word He said.

I said to myself, what will it take?

Nizy, please be awake!

 ~*~

In my sacred place I talk to Christ

I keep praying  on my own will sight

What massive gaffe do I have to yield?

I said to myself, what will it take?

Nizy, please be awake!

 ~*~

Life on earth is very fast.

Opportunity will soon past.

Only what’s done for Christ will last.

I said to myself, what will it take?

Nizy, please be awake!

~* ~

Until I realize I must give my all to Christ.

I said and pray ’’ Whatever you want Lord’’

Direct my steps and show me your way.

I saw His face smiling and said ”My child, follow my way”

I replied, I’ll take up my cross Lord and follow your purpose!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Urban

ur·ban /ˈərbən/

Adjective:

  • In, relating to, or characteristic of a city or town.
  • An urban area is characterized by higher population density and vast human features in comparison to areas surrounding it.

My entry for this week challenge is…

My hometown. The land of promise and the land of the brave. The City of Davao or in Filipino  ”Lungsod ng Dabaw”  is the most peaceful, safest and cleanest city in the Philippines. Davao is 3 times larger than Metro Manila and 7 times larger than Cebu. With over 240,000 hectares of land area, Davao City is the largest city in the Philippines in terms of acreage.

Davao City, Philippines

Davao City  is  known for a lot of things. It is the Orchid Capital of the Philippines, the Fruit Basket of the Philippines and the City in Bloom.  The Philippine Eagle also known as Monkey-Eating Eagle is  found in this city. Davao is the home of a lot of gardens, plantations and a wide variety of flowers. The most famous flower found in abundance in the city is Waling-waling or Vanda Sanderana, a type of orchid.

Davao City has plenty of amazing beaches and mountain resorts, and is close to diving spots and the highest peak in the Philippines, Mt. Apo. It was awarded by the Department of Tourism as the “Most Livable City” in the Philippines in 2008. This city is a typhoon free and is also known as a Durian City of the Philippines. If you missed my previous post about Durian fruit click  here.

The other reasons why people like to choose Davao as a good place to live or visit  is because of the quality of life that we have here. The city is extremely urbanized and yet satisfyingly simple in lifestyle, so it retains the best of both worlds. Davaoeño, a dialectal variant of Cebuano, is the major spoken language in the city, while the Tagalog itself comes a distant second. English is the medium of instruction in schools and is widely understood and spoken especially in the field of business and for all official documents. Bistaglish, an informal mixing of the above languages, is spoken as well. My hometown was, and remains a peaceful and beautiful town and I am proud to say ” Davaoeña ko bai.
