”Lonely Rose In The Darkness”

A lonely rose cultivated in the darkest corner of the garden

Surrounded by many other flowers

Yet the lonely rose remained alone

Time passed and trials came and went

One dealt a severe blow

And the rose began to wilt and wither

Forgotten…then… as if by a miracle

There came a soft and placid breeze

Followed by a ray of light

As all the other roses fell into darkness

The lonely rose began to shine

Shining with a special light…

And watered by a gentle cascade…

A cascade of love

A cascade of selfless affection

‘I do… not now but forever…’

Said the rose to the sunlight

And there they remain

A rose in full bloom

With her sunshine smiling down on her…

You are my sunshine, my life, my very soul

And I your rose am blooming in the light of your love.

How To Bake The Perfect Potato

Cook Cooking Pot Smiley Emoticon Animation Animated gif
  • Choose the right size of potato. Not too large but, big enough to fit in the palm of your hand reaching from wrist to tip to your longest finger. Fairly smooth skins no “bad” places or bruises, uniform in size (not large on one end and small on the other for example). Pierce potatoes with a fork on all sides. About 10 holes to allow steam to escape.
  •  Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  •  Rub skins with olive oil and sprinkle with a little sea salt. This will add taste to the potato and prevent it from drying out.
  • Bake potatoes for 45 min 1 hour or until tender. To test doneness pierce the potato with fork. If the fork goes in easy its done.
  •  Cut potatoes with knife on one side, using a oven mitt squeeze potato until it opens a little, place butter, sour cream , cheese, salt and pepper. You can put just about anything you like on the potato. Some people even add chili, onions, and cheese. You name it___. Potato should be nice and “fluffy” looking.

Graceful And Light Like A Bird

Picture: Nizy’s personal photo collection

I receive all of life with thanksgiving,

 I have gratitude for EVERYTHING.

That has ever occurred to bring me to this moment,

I give thanks for the joys and the sufferings.

The moments of peace and the flashes of anger,

the compassion and the indifference.

the roar of my courage and the cold sweat of my fear,

I accept gratefully the entirety of my past and my present life.

I know that deep within I am graceful and light,

Like a bird I will spread my wings and fly!

Day 6 – Photo of your favorite motto, in your handwriting

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow–
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out–
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit–
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

So lovies  If you fall down,  don’t quit! Don’t burn out; keep yourself  fueled & aflame. Don’t quit in hard times, get back up, dust yourself off, and just keep going.
